Alison Orchard

Alison Orchard is an Artist inspired by nature and passionate about painting. As a teenager she attended her first course at St. Ives School of Painting, working 'Plein Air' on the cliffs and life drawing in the studio. This sparked the dream of becoming an artist and so began a life-long love of the Cornish landscape.

Alison Studied at Epsom School of art & Design and Harrow College, University of Westminster. After completing a B.A. degree, Alison enjoyed a career as a commercial illustrator and designer, working at The Daily Telegraph. Since 2009 Alison has worked full time as a fine artist. She paints direct from the landscape, both at home in Surrey and along the Cornish coastline, using these initial experiences to inspire the large gestural paintings created in her Hampshire studio.

Alisons work has been shown nationally and internationally, including The Royal Collage of Art, The V&A museum and The Society of Women Artists.
